Paula creams the field in Alabama

Paula Creamer fired a bogey-free round of 65 to giver herself a comfortable five stroke lead after two rounds of the Mitchell Company LPGA Tournament of Champions in Alabama. Creamer shot seven birdies on the day on her way to a seven-under par 65, which was easily the best round of the day. The big movers in round 2 were Annika Sorenstam and Jin Joo Hong, who both shot five-under par rounds to leave them in contention of hauling in Creamer s lead. Hong started her round in superb fashion, birdying the first three holes and finished off in style by birdying three of the last five. She is now in second place at seven-under par for the tournament. Ranked number two in the world, Sorenstam s round of 67 included seven birdies, and leaves her with a chance to win her first tournament of the season. Equal with Sorenstam at six-under for the tournament is Pat Hurst, who shot another round of 69. Hurst s bogey-free round of 69 was capped off magnificently when she eagled the last hole. Australia s Wendy Doolan is having a tournament to forget, after rounds of 77 and 76 has her placed second last overall. Defending champion Lorena Ochoa put her disappointing opening round 74 behind her as she shot a three-under par 69, but her chances of defending her title are very slim as she is 11 strokes off the leader.
