Peirce and Buchanan win SA Jack Newton Junior Classic

The Jack Newton International Junior ClassicState Qualifying Event played in wintry conditions at North Adelaide Golf Course, proved once again to be a popular event, with 58 junior golfers taking part.

The event played in the school holiday period was open to all junior boys and girls who are members of Golf Clubs affiliated with GOLF SA, aged 17 years or under on the day of the event and met the handicap limits of 27 or less for boys and 36 girls.

Taking out the Girls Jack Newton Cup was Caitlin Peirce from The Vines of Reynella Golf Club with a gross score of 77, 5-over par.

Jack Buchanan from the Glenelg Golf Club was the winner of the boys Cup with a superb 2-under 68.

Both players willbe invited by Golf SA to play in the Jack Newton International Junior Classic National Event in NSW from 2-6 October 2017

Shakira-ann Kuys 85 from Port Augusta Golf Club and Jimmy Luo 73 from Tea Tree Gully, as winners of the 14 and under section will also travel to NSW as representatives to compete in the event.

Special mention to Alexander Clarke from North Haven Golf Club for acing the par-three 6th hole, his first hole in one.
