Oatlands Golf Club look to be establishing themselves as the powerhouse of Section One in Division Two Pennant after only giving up half a match in their rout of Muirfield in round three. Young Park and Nick Murdoch were the standouts for the Western Sydney club with their 5 and 4 wins. Bayview had no answers for Macquarie links in the other pool match, losing 7-nil at home.
Cameron Davis topped off an impressive weekend in his comeback to competitive Golf with an impressive 7 and 5 win during Monash Country Club's demolition of Cronulla in Section Two. The 20 year old Golf Australian representative and Golf NSW HP star picked up a win in the Concord Cup a day earlier, and looks to be in fine form as the semi finals approach. Monash won easily 6 matches to 1.
Fox Hills and Royal Sydney played out a draw in the other pool group. It is Monash however that have a stranglehold on the pool, with an imposing win loss ratio of 18 to 3.
In Section Three, it looks like it will come down to the wire to decide the winner after both The Lakes and Lynwood recorded 5 matches to 2 wins over Stonecutters Ridge and New Brighton respectively. The Lakes Joshua Armstrong and Thomas Kadiev were big winners 5&3 and 5&4 respectively, while Lynwood's Brenden Ellam and Joe Mc Phillips had big 6&5 wins. The Eastern suburbs club club sits a solitary match ahead of Lynwood on matches won and lost.
Pennant Hills are still undefeated in Section Four of Division 2 after their third win in as many starts on Sunday. The 'Hills had a bit of a fight but Coke away with the win 4 1/2 matches to 2 1/2 over Antill Park. Jordan Garner and Adam Cordony are big winners, 5&4 and 6&4 respectively. In the other sectional match, Wakehurst and Killara couldn't be split, with the match ending in a half for both teams.
Division Three
In Section Three section one, Dunheved defeated Rosnay 4 1/2 to 2 1/2, and Cumberland defeated Kogarah 4 to 3.
Woollaware defeated Penrith 5 to 2, and Cromer defeated Glenmore 5 to 2 in section two.
Windsor drew with Manly 3 1/2 matches all, and Twin Creeks defeated Carnavon 5 1/2 to 1 1/2.
Division 4
Campbelltown defeated Marrickville 5 1/2 to 1 1/2 while The Coast defeated Riverside Oaks 6 to 1
Richmond defeated Chatswood 6 1/2 to 1/2 and Asquith defeated Leonay 5 to 2.
Roseville defeated Bexley 4 to 3 while Northbridge defeated Karella 5 to 2. Northbridge number one Jay Mackenzie impressing with a big 7&6 win along the way. In an easy win for the home club.
Finally Eastlakes defeated Warrringah 5 1/2 to 1 1/2.
Division 5
In Division 5, Strathfield defeated Bondi 5 to 2 while Randwick defeated Georges River 4 to 3.
Ladies Pennant Wrap
The Ladies from the Australian Golf Club didn't have it all their own way in a close 3 matches to 2 win over Concord Golf Club at Concord. Tess Clark and Elizabeth Elmassian recorded nice wins for the Kensington club, with 6&5 and 4&3 wins respectively. While for Concord, Belinda Ji recorded a big win over Stefanie Hall, 5&3. In the other pool match, Avondale were too strong for St. Michael's with a 3 1/2 to 1 1/2 win.
The Lakes and New South Wales look set to battle it out for the pool title in the final few weeks of the home and away section after both teams recorded big wins on Sunday.
New South Wales had no trouble with Cabramatta recording a 5 matches to nil win, Dana Barriball the big winner with an 8&7 result. The Lakes left Bonnie Doon with a 4 matches to 1 win under their belt. Impressive for the lakes were Xanthe Macklinshaw and Marcia Fleming who both recorded comfortable 3&2 wins.
