DIVISION 1
2017 finalists, St. Michael’s GC, were out to prove a point at home defeating Avondale 5-2. Led by Adam Micallef who won 4&2, the Maroubra club gradually wore down their opponents to get their season off to a winning start.Pymble were able to win at home defeating The Lakes 4.5-2.5. Pymble’s Reid Brown was the standout winning 5&4.
Defending Champions, The Australian have started of their season with a win at home against a gallant Long Reef 4-3. Avondale Medallist Blake Windred made easy work of his opponent winning 6&5 and Nicholas Fuller also had an impressive 7&6 win.
Mona Vale were too strong at home defeating Cabramatta 6-1. Mona Vale’s Alexander Munro was solid winning 7&5.
2016 champions, Bonnie Doon recorded a big win away, defeating Pennant Hills 4.5-2.5. Joshua Bell of Bonnie Doon winning 4&2.
Moore Park secured a 4.5-2.5 win at home against Ryde-Parramatta. Best for the City club was Logan Toms winning 6&5 while Reece Oliver & Darren Shepherd both won 5&4.
NSW have recorded a nice win away against a strong Macquarie Links outfit 5-2. NSW’s Andy Li was impressive winning 7&5. Concord GC, led by youngster Joshua Gadd who won 5&4 accounted for Bankstown 4.5-2.5.
DIVISION 2
Cromer were too strong accounting for Dunheved 7-0, with Cromer’s Corey Rae winning 5&4.
Stonecutters Ridge started their season with a 6-1 victory at home against Killara. Strong wins by Stonecutters Ridge’s Mark Hancock (6&4) and Ryan Suckling (6&5)laid the platform for the Ridge. The only joy for Killara was Mark Panopoulos winning 7&6.
Bayview defeated North Ryde 5-2. With Bayview’s Craig Bevan winning 8&6. Oatlands got the job done at home with a 5-2 win against Penrith. Oatlands’ Earl Rees the best, winning 5&4.
Twin Creeks prevailed in a close encounter against a strong Castle Hill team winning 5-2. While Fox Hills were too strong against Lynwood winning 6-1. Lynwoods Joel Wheatley’s won 6&4 and Kevin Booth won 5&3.
Cronulla defeated Muirfield 6-1 in a closer encounter than the final score indicated, with five games decided at the 17th hole.Liverpool and Monash couldn’t be separated and played out a 3.5-3.5 draw at Liverpool. Monash’s Nathan Barbieri continuing his good form winning 5&3.
DIVISION 3
Massey Park were able to record a nice win away from home against Manly 4-3. Manly’s Craig Smith winning 7&5.Cumberland did enough to secure a 4-3 win at home against Palm Beach. Cumberland’s Joshua Russo winning 6&4 and Jackson Upton, 16 year old from Palm Beach won 5&4.
Carnarvon accounted for Asquith 6-1 with Andrew Wallace winning 6&5 while Lakeside defeated Woolooware 5.5-1.5 with Darren Hawking winning 8&6.
Camden defeated Antill Park away in a close encounter 5-2. While Kogarah were too strong at home against Eastlake winning 6.5-0.5. Kogarah’s Brett Hayden led the way with an impressive 8&7 win.
Royal Sydney dominated Wallacia with a 7-0 win at home. Royal Sydney were best served by James Ledgerwood’s 7&6 win and Hunter Hordern 6&5 win.Glenmore Heritage also proved too strong defeating Wakehurst 5-2. Joshua Tolomeo was the standout winning 5&4.
DIVISION 4
Campbelltown proved to be too strong at home defeating Bardwell Valley 6-1. Campbelltown’s Sean McCartan the pick of the South west team, winning 5&4. After being promoted last year, Randwick started their season with a 4-3 at Bexley GC.
Warringah started their season with a huge and convincing 7-0 win at home against Roseville. Newly promoted Strathfield accounted for Marrickville at home 4.5-2.5 with Strathfield’s Jack Snelgrove winning 6&4.
Leonay recorded a 4-3 win at home against The Coast with David Moore winning 5&4. While Richmond were able to hang on against Northbridge to win 4-3. Big wins coming from Michael Beehag winning 8&6 and Zachary Kirk winning 7&6.
Brighton Lakes were too strong for Windsor prevailing 5.5-1.5 with Brighton Lakes’ Brock Speechley winning 7&5. Riverside Oaks recorded a win away at Beverley Park 4.5-2.5. Beverley Park’s Luke Carey was the standout with a 7&6 win.
DIVISION 5
Springwood were too strong for Chatswood at home 6-1. Georges River prevailed in a close one at home against Hurstville 4-3. Springwood’s Mark Smith led the way winning 6&5.
Bondi and Macarthur Grange both had 4.5-2.5 wins at home and Kareela made it a clean sweep for Home teams defeating Barnwell Park 4-3.

WOMEN DIVISION 1
St. Michael’s were too strong at home defeating Bonnie Doon 5-0. Led by NSW State Team member Stephanie Kyriacou, the Maroubra Club showed after winning division 2 last year, they won’t take too long to get accustomed to playing in Division one. Casey Cook of St. Michael’s winning 6&5 was the standout.
The Australian GC defeated Moore Park 4-1. NSW State Team captain Amy Chu who was too strong for her opponent winning 5&4, while Monica Johnson also won 5&3.
2017 finalists, Concord prevailed with an away win against The Lakes 3-2. Concord’s Antonia Gonzalez won 5&4, while both Yerin Kim and Claire Shin won 4&3. Xanthe Macklinshaw of The Lakes was strong for Belinda Ji, winning 5&4.
New South Wales GC was too strong at home defeating Castle Hill 3.5-1.5. Strong wins by Dana Barriball 5&4 and Zoe Ticehurst 4&2 gave the La Perouse club a winning start to the 2018 season.
WOMEN DIVISION 2
Cronulla picked up a nice away win defeating Cumberland 3.5-1.5. Charlotte Perkins was the standout for the Shire club winning 5&4 with fellow team mates Marie Ticehurst and Lily Pierce both won 4&2.
Both Stonecutters Ridge and Pymble pick up nice away wins heading into next weeks return matches at home. Stonecutters Ridge were too strong defeating 2016 finalists Ryde-Parramatta 4-1. They were led by Lia Lavelle and Breille Mapanao who both won 4&3.
Pymble accounted for North Ryde, 4- 1. Pymble’s Victoria Stals was the standout winning 6&4 while for North Ryde, their only point was Ann Quarmby who won 6&4.
