Perry wins, Lutterus 24th

Kenny Perry has won the John Deere Classic but won&apost take his winning form to the British Open. Perry grabbed his third win in seven weeks with a play-off triumph over fellow Americans Jay Williamson and Brad Adamonis. He could have wrapped up the title in regulation but bogeyed the 476-yard last to fall into a play-off. But the 47-year-old was lifted to the John Deere Classic title in Illinois after his two opponents both hit their second shots into the water on the same hole in sudden death. The Australian contingent at the event failed to fire on the final day with David Lutterus (69) the pick of the bunch in a share of 24th. Aaron Baddeley slipped down the leaderboard with a fourth-round 73 and ended just inside the top 30, eight shots off the play-off trio. Gavin Coles (69) was two stokes further off the pace in a share of 41st with young gun Jason Day (73). Compatriots Nick Flanagan and Andrew Buckle signed for 71 and 72 respectively to finish in a share of 50th. Perry has decided not to travel to Royal Birkdale because he had already given a commitment to play the US Tour in Milwaukee. The win was Perry&aposs third of the season, all of which have come in his last five events. His run started with a win at The Memorial and he also won his last start, the Buick Open.
