Perry wins NSW Country Championship

Dylan Perry held off the nerves to win the 2013 NSW Country Championship and also book himself a spot in the NSW Open at the end of the month. Perry won by three strokes to Wollongong&aposs Justin Craig, who had rounds of 69 and 70 to finish at five under par. In third place was Daniel Davies, a further two strokes behind. In the teams event, Hunter River DGA won for a second year in a row, from the Illawarra and Northern Rivers Districts. The Hunter team was Will Barnett, Tom Bateman, Hayden Gulliver, Joshua Knott, Dylan Perry and Nathan Waters. LEADERBOARD

Dylan Perry leads after the first round of the first round after a five under par round of 67. Dylan plays his golf at The Vintage in the Hunter Valley and at Long Reef in Sydney. Hot on his heels are Joshua Knott, Will Barnett,Justin Craig and Tim Hyland, who all shot fine rounds of 69. The Hunter DGA leads the team event by a stroke to the Mid North Coast, despite their leading player and defending Country Champion Nathan Waters not completing his round.

There are 110 men due to contest the 2013 Men&aposs NSW Country Championship, incorporating the Men’sNSW Country Inter-District Championship Teams Even being held at Muswellbrook Golf Club on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November 2013. Draw and Player Information The Men’sNSW Country Championship is open to male amateurs who: (a) hold a current handicap that does not exceed the handicap limit of 9.4 at the time of entry; and (b) are Members of a Country Golf Club affiliated Golf NSW; and (c) are a bona fide ACT or NSW resident outside the Sydney Metropolitan Area The Championship is played over 36-holes stroke play, 18-holes on the first day and 18-holes on the second day. The Championship also incorporates the Inter-District Teams Challenge, between teams from District Golf Associations throughout NSW. NSW Country Champion receives an exemption into the NSW Open. A range of prizes will be awarded, including:

  • NSW Country Championship (scratch) 1st place
  • NSW Country Championship (scratch) 2nd place
  • NSW Country Championship (scratch) 3rd place
  • 36 Holes Nett Winner
  • 36 Holes Nett Runner Up
  • 1st 18 Holes Scratch Winner
  • 2nd 18 Holes Scratch Winner
