Suzann Pettersen shot a final-round 70 to win the CN Canadian Women&aposs Open. It was the Norwegian&aposs worst round of the tournament after a 65, 68 and 66, but still proved enough to give her the title by five shots. Consecutive birdies on holes 10, 11 and 12 all but assured victory, even though bogeys on the next two holes gave the chasing pack hope. Pettersen took a five-stroke lead over Angela Stanford into the final day, and that advantage never looked under serious threat as Stanford could also only manage a 70. A bogey at the third and double bogey at the fourth undermined the American&aposs challenge, although an eagle at the par-four 17th saw her recover somewhat. Stanford finished in a share of second place with Momoko Ueda, who shot a 65, Morgan Pressel, Ai Miyazato and Karrie Webb, the quintet finishing on 10-under. In-Kyung Kim was a shot further back, with American teenager Vicky Hurst and Anna Nordqvist on eight-under. Jiyai Shin shot the best round of the day, an eight-under-par 63 moving her to seven-under overall and a share of 10th place. Great Britain&aposs Catriona Matthew ended with a 73 for two-under.
