Peugeot purrs into 2007 MFS Women�s Australian Open

Golf Australia announced today that it has signed Peugeot Automobiles Australia to a three-year contract as an official sponsor for the MFS Women’s Australian Open. Peugeot s sponsorship delivers a multi platform approach with tournament exposure cut through to club golfers and consumer giveaways. As the official car of the tournament, Peugeot will be supplying a fleet of new Peugeot s as courtesy cars for players and officials. Paul McNamee, Executive Chairman – Australian Opens, Golf Australia said, It is only fitting to build a partnership with such a responsive, stylish and sporty brand, as it is strategically aligned with the skill, talent and glamour of the MFS Women’s Australian Open. Peugeot s commitment to women’s golf has been evident since the introduction of the Peugeot Women’s Classic, which attracted over 17,000 female club golfers nationwide. Their decision to support professional women’s golf is testament to the fact that women’s golf is going from strength to strength in this country, added McNamee. Rob Dommerson, Managing Director of Peugeot Automobiles Australia said that he is excited about the sponsorship deal arranged with Golf Australia, which also includes staging the Peugeot Women’s Classic for the next three years. To celebrate the female style and swing at the 2007 MFS Australian Open, Peugeot will be offering the professional players the chance to win a brand new Peugeot in a unique hole in one competition during the tournament. The 2007 Women’s Australian Open is Australia s national championship and provides a vehicle in which to showcase elite golfers, emerging golfers and to inspire Australian women to take up the game of golf. The event will be held at The Royal Sydney Golf Course, 1 – 4 February 2007, along with the Peugeot Women’s Classic national final. Golf Australia also acknowledges the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) as the official charity for the 2007 MFS Women’s Australian Open and the support of title sponsor MFS. Other sponsors recognised for their support, include the New South Wales Major Events Board, Fisher & Paykel and The Royal Sydney Golf Club, host of the 2007 MFS Women’s Australian Open.
