Purpose of the Golf NSW High Performance Program (HPP)

The purpose of the Golf NSW High Performance Program is to work closely with Golf Australia to achieve the strategic outcome of producing “world class “players that are capable of winning Major Championships, Olympic Gold Medals and Top 100 players on the professional world rankings.

Objectives of the Golf NSW High Performance Program

The primary objective of the Golf NSW HPP is to identify and develop talented and committed NSW players and assist them maximise their potential on and off the course.

Golf NSW will provide identified players opportunities to access quality coaching and training environments, nationally and internationally recognised sport science and sport medicine professionals, interstate travel and competition support, modern technologies and performance enhancement resources.

The Golf NSW HPP will produce players and NSW teams that are capable of winning National Championships and Rankings Events. Those players that meet national selection criteria will then have an opportunity to progress further up the elite player pathway and gain selection into Golf Australia National Squads and Australian Teams, thus gaining access to national and international training and competitions.

Importance of Education to our athletes

Golf NSW recognise the importance of education in a player's development.  It is essential that a player involved in the program be completing or having completed their Higher School Certificate (or a recognised trade).

Player Pathways

in 2017, Golf Australia in consultation with all State High-Performance programs, introduced a clear pathway for eligible amateur golfers to assit them to reach their full potential as State and National Athletes.

The Program provides a clear approach to funding and core requirements of athletes at each tier of performance.
