Playgolf WEEK successfully staged across SA

Playgolf WEEK, a new week-long initiative by Golf Australia to raise awareness and participation of golf has been staged successfully across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

Held from Mon 28 October – Sun 3 November 2013, 40 South Australian Golf Clubs, including 18 metropolitan and 22 regional Clubs, from as far and wide as Port Lincoln on the Eyre Peninsula, to Renmark in the Riverland, to Mt Gambier in the South East, participated in the inaugural Playgolf WEEK campaign, with each club holding a range of activities for their local communities.

With Playgolf WEEK scheduled for national roll out in 2014, South Australian Golf Clubs were given the first opportunity to showcase their facilities across a week dedicated to golf club promotion.

Bringing the game to new players of all ages, triggering the social golfer to play golf more often and showing that golf is an accessible game, is all part of Playgolf WEEK.

CEO of Golf Australia, Stephen Pitt, said Playgolf WEEK was a fantastic vehicle for individuals to discover golf as an accessible, colourful and fun past time.

“The vision for Playgolf WEEK is to encourage more people to play golf more often and educate Australians on the benefits of playing golf as a good way to stay active and social throughout life.

To support Playgolf WEEK, Golf Australia in conjunction with Golf SA held four key activities to further raise awareness. To read more about each activity and to view event images refer below:
