Golf Queensland is the peak body for amateur golf in Queensland with a healthy membership base of over 65,000 players. The organisation provides a blend of services and programs to golf clubs and golfers of all ages and abilities.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented marketing and communications specialist to join the team at Golf Queensland who are passionate about realising the Golf Queensland vision of “More People Playing More Golf”.

The Role:

The Marketing and Communications Officer will support the Marketing and Communications Manager in the implementation of strategies to assist the development and promotion of golf throughout Queensland.

Key expectations include:
• Assist with the co-ordination and delivery of activities under the marketing and communication plans;
• Implementation of Golf Queensland’s social media plans;
• Assist with the maintenance of Golf Queensland’s digital media including the websites for Golf Queensland, Junior Golf Queensland and iGolf Queensland.
• Assist with the co-ordination of special projects linked to identified strategic priorities;
• Assist with the development and implementation of specific marketing and communication plans for other Golf Queensland program or service areas;
• Co-ordinate and/or support of various corporate events including workshops or forums; and
• Maintain excellent working relationships with Golf Queensland personnel and relevant stakeholders.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will be highly organised with solid time management skills. The position requires the successful applicant to work independently while also having strong skills for working in small teams.

A tertiary qualification in Communication/Marketing is preferred along with practical skills and experience in communication and promotional campaigns. Demonstrated IT proficiency and digital media skills are essential. Knowledge of the golf industry would be beneficial but not essential.

This role is ideal for those interested in establishing a professional marketing and communications career within the sporting industry.
