Enjoy Challenges Multi Disciplined Work within a close team Position Overview: Golf Queensland is the peak body for amateur golf in Queensland with a healthy membership base of over 70,000 players. The organisation aims to promote and foster the game of golf through the provision of a range of direct and indirect benefits to golfers of all ages and abilities. Reporting to the Manager – Golf Operations, this role is primarily accountable for the planning and delivery of GQ events. It is also responsible for delivering of technical advice and assist with the delivery of educational programs and other core services. You will be primarily responsible for: Planning and delivery of an allocated number of GQ events annually; Answering enquiries related to Rules of Golf, Handicapping and course ratings; Planning and coordinating GQ&aposs technical education programs; Developing effective working relationships with key stakeholders What we are looking for: The successful candidate will have a strong interest in the technical aspects of the game with the view to become an expert in the rules of golf and handicapping. In addition the successful applicant is likely to possess skills and experience in the following areas: A keen interest and desire to work within the golf industry (experience in the Golf Industry would be highly desirable); Ability to work autonomously and contribute to the organisation&aposs ongoing strategic planning Strong time management and organizational skills; Proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite; Successful written and verbal communication skills, Great interpersonal skills; A formal qualification in Sport or Event Management and/or relevant training with experience in golf operations is desirable.
