Puckett qualifies top at Women’s Amateur

Round 2 Results 2010 champion Robyn Puckett (USA) shot a second round 3-over par 77 to qualify in top spot after two rounds of qualifying at the Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship at Tanunda Pines Golf Club in the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Puckett finished the qualifying rounds on 152, four strokes clear of defending champion Jacqui Morgan (NSW) in second place after Morgan shot a second round 81. Robyn Boniface qualified in third place after a second round 78 with Libby Day (VIC) in fourth place. Seven-time champion Sylvia Donohoe (NSW) failed to qualify for the Match Play stage after a second round 89. The first round of elimination Match Play begins on Wednesday. The Australian Women&aposs Senior Amateur Championship is open to players aged 55 years and over. Players contest 36-holes qualifying, with the leading 16 players progressing to elimination match play. The leading eight players in four separate age divisions also qualify for age flights.
