How many years have you been a part of the Victorian junior team?

This was my third year.

This year was your first time captaining the State team. How did you find the experience?

It was good. I didn’t do too much differently, I just really like being around the girls so it was fun to be the Captain.

The week before the Interstate Series you were the top performing Victorian at the Australian Girls’ Amateur, did that give you a bit of confidence?

Yeah definitely. I really wanted to do well in that tournament because in the past I’ve not performed at my best. I wanted to come top ten and I came eighth so that was a good result for me.

You’ve played the Oates Vic Open twice now. This year you made the cut and played on Saturday. Is that a promising sign for you moving forward?

Yeah it was really great to play in that tournament and it was really surprising for me to make it to the third day because going into the pre-qualifier I had my doubts about whether I would pre-qualify. It was good to see how I compared to the professionals and other amateurs in Australia.

Being in year 11 this year, how are you finding balancing golf with VCE?

I'm finding it okay at the moment. I try to put school first and I am finding at the moment that I’m juggling the two not too badly. Haileybury are really good. I'm able to organise catch-ups with my teachers during lunch times and that helps me to keep up.

Where do you want to take your golf over the next few years?

I’ve always wanted to be a golfer and make a career out of it. Im not sure at the moment what I’m going to do once I finish school but for now I’m just trying to keep improving and I guess I’ll see how I go.
