Victorian Su Oh recorded an emphatic 9&8 victory over defending champion Emma Talley (USA) in the round of 16 at the US Women’s Amateur early this morning at Nassau Country Club, Glen Cove, New York.
After halfing the first hole, Oh went on a tear, winning the next nine holes which included four birdies on the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 9th.
The victory moves the 18 year old to the quarter-final round where #39 seed Kristen Gillman (USA) will await. The match will tee off at 3:05am (AEST) Saturday morning.
