Quarter-Final Matches Heating Up at The Metropolitan

It was a battle out there today at The Metropolitan for the Quarter-Final matches of the Sir Dallas Brooks Trophy. After cold, wet and windy conditions all week, the players were challenged with a humid 30 degree Melbourne day to contest for the 4 spots in tomorrow’s Semi-Finals.
2010 Sir Dallas Brooks Trophy winning pair and 2011 runners-up Tom Dreher (PGA) and partner Alison Mighell (Royal Melbourne) continued their hot form this year taking out Lang Lang’s Chris Roberts and Nelly Stoer from Eastwood three and two.
The home club rivalry match was between The Metropolitan pairs Alasdair MacGillivray and Chris Faram versus mother/son team Will Morrell and Fance Morrell. MacGillivray and Faram proved too strong defeating the Morrell duo five and four.
Jack Donaldson (PGA) and Hilary Yencken (Royal Melbourne) paired well together up against Adam Smith (PGA) and local Jo Murray (The Metropolitan), narrowly making it over the line with a two and one win.
Rounding up the matches was a four and two win by Eastwood pair Paul Elliot and Vivienne Laurito over Craig McLean (PGA) and another local Sharon Kubale (The Metropolitan).
