Quartet heading for PGA Tour

Jarrod Lyle, Greg Chalmers, Aron Price and Marc Leishman have become the latest Australians to join the US PGA Tour after all four finished in the top 25 on the Nationwide Tour money list this year. The quartet have boosted the number of Australasians on the Tour to 19 as they will join the likes of Robert Allenby, Geoff Ogilvy, Stuart Appleby and Adam Scott on the prestigious circuit in 2009. Lyle was the highest-placed Australasian on the 2008 Nationwide Tour money list in fourth position with $AU 557,148 thanks largely to victories at the Mexican Open and Knoxville Open. Meanwhile, Chalmers (eighth – $AU 468,881) claimed the Henrico County Open title in Virginia, Price (18th – $AU 362,641) took out the Livermore Valley Wine Country Championship in California and Leishman (equal 19th – $AU 355,480) won the WNB Golf Classic in Texas. The top three earners on the Nationwide Tour this year were American Matt Bettencourt ($AU 652,286), Zimbabwean Brendon de Jonge ($AU 636,698) and Bettencourt&aposs compatriot Jeff Klauk ($AU 593,531).
