The Australian team of Minjee Lee (WA), Grace Lennon (VIC) and Su Hyun Oh (VIC) are tied in fourth place after the opening round of the Queen Sirikit Cup at Sunrise Golf and Country Club in Yangmei City, Taiwan. Lee and Oh posted counting scores of 2-over par 74 while Lennon finished with 75 for a team total of 4-over par. The Australians, who are tied with hosts Taiwan, trail leaders Thailand and Japan by three strokes after the leaders posted 1-over par rounds. Korea is in third place, one stroke ahead of Australia. Malaysia and The Philippines are tied in sixth place. On the individual leaderboard, Lee and Oh are tied in sixth place, four strokes behind Japan&aposs Haruka Morita who finished with a 2-under par 70. The championship is hosted annually on a rotation basis among 14 invited member countries with the objectives of promoting the standard of women’s golf in the region and to promote goodwill and friendship a mong participating teams.
