The day began with New South Wales losing their first contest of the championship 3-2 to a gutsy performance by Victoria. Nathan Holman, Geoff Drakeford and Will Hume all won to take the contest for Victoria. But the NSW squad returned fire in the sixth round with a 5-0 demolition of the Tasmanian team to maintain their place at the top of the leaderboard. Queensland s surge began with a 4-1 win over the Northern Territory with Cameron Smith s 8&7 and Maverick Antcliff s 6&5 victories particularly impressive. That win took Queensland to just one match behind NSW after the morning round. In the afternoon, Queensland repeated the scoreline with a 4-1 win over the Australian Capital Territory to move to within two matches on NSW and outright second. Victoria maintained its grip on third position with the win over NSW and a squared contest in the afternoon against a tenacious Western Australian team. South Australia remains in fourth position after two good wins on Tuesday. With wins to Anthony Murdaca, Cameron Baulderstone and Sam Gava in the morning, the SA team defeated ACT 3 to 1 1/2. The SA team continued a double dose of the territories with a comprehensive win over the Northern Territory in the afternoon with Sam Gava putting in another impressive display. Western Australia had a successful day and sits in fifth position after a narrow morning win over Tasmania and squared contest against Victoria in the afternoon. Tasmania sit in sixth position after a tough day in Alice Springs. A narrow morning loss to Western Australia where two matches were squared was made harder with the 5-0 loss to New South Wales in the afternoon. The ACT team moved ahead of the Northern Territory into seventh position by the barest of margins with just half a match separating the two. The seventh and final round will be played on Wednesday.
