Rain denies Jones in Japan

Australian Brendan Jones has finished 10th in a rain-shortened Mizuno Open in Nishinomiya, Japan on Sunday. Rain wreaked havoc with the final day of the tournament, forcing organisers to cancel the final round. South Korean Dong-Hwan Lee was crowned the champion as he was four shots clear on 12-under after the first three rounds of the tournament. Jones was the best of the Australasian contingent in 10th place on six-under after rounds of 65, 74 and 71, ahead of Steven Conran, who was 13th on four-under. Scott Laycock, the only other Australian to finish below par on four-under, finished 19th while New Zealander David Smail was a further shot back in a tie for 24th. Chris Campbell (46th) and Rich Tate (52nd) were the other Australasians to make the cut.
