Rd 1: Tough conditions at Srixon Mid-Amateur

Players battled freezing conditions, gale-force winds and super slick greens at the Srixon NSW Mid-Amateur Championships at Bathurst Golf Club today. Only sixteen players from a field of 139 shot in the 70's with no one able to break par.

Jamie Pitt from Windaroo Lakes Golf Club leads the Men's Mid-Amateur with a notable score of 72. Hot on his heals are Peter Cooper from Kogarah Golf Club (73) and Ryan Hochkins from Georges River Golf Club (74).

2017 MID AMATEUR: Boulton and Crichton dominate Mid-Amateur

The ladies found it equally as hard. There is a strong contingent of Killara and Moore Park golfers making their mark. The best in those ranks were defending champion Jan Crichton from Killara (83) and Gemma Dooley from Moore Park (86). However, it was Sharon Thompson from Avondale Golf Club who rose to the occasion finishing on 82.
