Reed wins SA PGA championship

Heath Reed has claimed the biggest win of his career in today&aposs OG Roberts SA PGA Championship at Blue Lake Golf Links, Mount Gambier. Reed shot a five-under-par round of 62 to finish at 20-under for the tournament to beat off 15 other contenders to claim the title. The Victorian finished two shots clear of Queenslander Peter Senior, New South Welshmen Tristan Lambert and Aaron Townsend. “I&aposm just so excited, I can t believe I have won today,” an emotional Reed said following his victory. “Leading from start to finish makes this victory so much sweeter.” “I played well throughout the week and knew that if I could stick to my game plan, that someone else would have to play extra special to beat me,” Reed joins the likes of Australian champions Stuart Appleby and Craig Parry as winners of the tournament. The 2008 OG Roberts SA PGA Championship is part of the Von Nida Tour, a series of 11 events held around the nation that provide the next wave of up-and-coming stars a decent grounding in 72-hole golf tournaments.
