Remembering Timothy Mullins

The realm of junior golf in Central Queensland is a quieter place after the passing of Timothy Mullins. Tim was the Junior Coordinator for the Central Highlands District and Emerald Golf Club.  He was monumental in growing the game in the district. Covering a large amount of land, distance was never of concern for Tim often managing to get to three clubs a day. And it’s fair to say that the game would not have existed without his commitment.

Despite not always having the easiest time getting more people playing golf, challenges had been seemingly effortless to overcome. In his time organising junior events, it was not unheard of to see up to 40 participants on the day, from absolute beginners to seasoned pros.

He was a great support to both kids and parents of the district as they made their way along their golfing pathway.  And the most important thing to him was to ensure kids had fun along the way.

Golf in Queensland has lost someone special. Our thoughts are with his family, Central Highlands District and Emerald Golf Club.
