Riverside Golf Club fought gallantly in blustery conditions today to secure a well-deserved victory in the Barclay Shield.
The team of Jan Simmonds, Pauline Pearson, Vicki Morris and Marj Colvill won the team foursomes event with a net score of 160.
Greens Beach Golf Club placed second on a count-back to Riverside and two strokes in front of Elderslie Golf Club in third on 162.
Greens Beach was represented by Pene Green, Leila Craw, Rosanne Byrne and Joan Wesson.
While Elderslie was represented by Angela Cripps, Cheryl Millington, Nona Sonners and Tanya Downham.
The day’s best 18-hole net went to Moorina Golf Club’s Lyn Mullins and Tania Thompson on 74.
Three strokes adrift on 77 were Prospect Vale Golf Club’s Louise Semmens and Julie Berne picking up second place.
