Riverside Golf Club took out division one of the Tasmanian women’s pennant finals in spectacular fashion at the weekend.
The ladies defeated Ulverstone three and a half matches to one and a half in the Sunday final conducted at Devonport Golf Club.
Ulverstone booked their spot in the final with a three and a half to one and a half victory over Claremont two weeks prior at North West Bay.
But it was to be Riverside who stole the show with a hard fought victory over the strong Ulverstone line-up.
Victories for Riverside went to Amanda Smith defeating Sarah Johnstone 3&2, Mel Thurlow overcoming Rose Paton 3&1 and Kate Collings beating Dianne Woodhouse 1up.
Ulverstone Golf Club’s sole victory went to Karen Ashley at number five who defeated Yvonne Harrison 3&1.
The number two match between Riverside’s Liz Williams and Sharon Crowden was halved.
