Robb was the best of the full field of 108 players who battled hot conditions for the second day in a row.

Rounds of 75 and 70 were enough to win the title by one shot from Gordon Claney (Kingston Heath), who put together two consistent rounds of 73.

Last year’s gross champion Greg Welsh from Colac has taken out this year’s nett title with a total of 140, including an impressive final round 68.

The Sorrento Senior Amateur is also the home of the Victorian Senior Club Team’s Championship, in which teams of three players from a nominated club have their aggregate gross and nett totals for the two-rounds put towards a team score.

The Gross title was claimed by the Kew team of Pancho DeNeefe, Steve Valentine and Mark Brasher combining for a team total of 467 and reclaiming the perpetual cup for Kew.
