Robinson and Drill Victorious at Murray Downs

Round one joint leader Stephanie Robinson from Sanctuary Lakes has won the Ruby McKenzie Trophy with a 79 today for a 36-Hole gross total of 158. Robinson went head to head today with playing partner and round one co-leader Helen Pascoe (Buninyong), who carded 81 today to finish runner-up on 160. The pair was neck and neck throughout the day, until they reached the par 3 140m 15th hole where Robinson made par and Pascoe struggled with a double. Robinson then went on to birdie the 16th and 18th holes to secure the titles by 2 shots from Pascoe.

Taking out of the Vi Teesdale Trophy (Best 36-Hole Nett) was Rosalie Drill from Rich River on a handicap of 10 with a total score of nett 147. Drill was one of 33 Rich River ladies that were in attendance, and her consistent rounds of nett 74 and 73 were enough to edge out her opponents by a mere shot. Robinson (Hcp 5) and Jenni Bauerle (Kyabram Valley View, Hcap 16) both tied on nett 148 with Robinson winning on a count-back.

Jenni Bauerle and local Jenny Lynas (Murray Downs, Hcp 22) both had solid tournaments, taking home the both Best 36-Hole Gross and Best 36-Hole Nett in their respective grades. Bauerle had a total score of gross 180 (nett 148) to secure the B-Grade trophies, while Lynas’s total of gross 195 (nett 151) cleaned up in C-Grade. In D-Grade, the 36-Hole gross division was won by Hill Top’s Kerryn Pickworth with a score of 208, while Dianne Goodall (Warrnambool, Hcp 29) won the nett division with a score of 153. Other daily prizes were awarded to Nett winners in Divisions A-D, Team’s Events, and Nearest The Pins.
