Philippine representative Cyna Rodriguez in action at Flagstaff Hill Cyna Rodriguez from the Philippines is the leading qualifier after the stroke rounds of the South Australian Women’s Amateur Championships. With an opening round one-under 71 at Tea Tree Gully, Rodriguez followed up with a course record five-under round of 68 at Flagstaff Hill, to finish on (139) placing her five shots ahead of Victorian Grace Glennon 70,74 (144). After a bogey on the par 5 first hole, Rodriguez had 4 birdies on the front nine and then birdies on the 12th and 13th holes to set the course alight. After bowing out last week in the Quarter finals of the WA Amateur, Rodriguez is pleased with her form. I really putted well today and am happy with that score said Rodriguez. We ve been in Australia for just over a week now and I m starting to settle in. I m looking forward to the Match Play Rounds at The Grange. Compatriot Jayvie Agojo, finished 75, 74 (149) to qualify in third position while Sue Wooster (The National) qualified fourth with rounds of 77, 75 (152). State Captain Caitlin Roberts (Royal Adelaide) was the leading local finishing 77, 79 (156) followed by Cassidy Evreniadis (The Grange) 82, 76 (158) and Jenny Lee (Glenelg) 79, 80 (159). Elysia Yap (Glenelg) defeated Kristalle Blum (Grange) in a playoff for the eighth and final qualifying position. The South Australian Amateur Championship Match Play rounds (Quarter Finals) commence at The Grange on Thursday 21 March from 8.26am.
