The final Rookie Series qualifier for the 2015 calendar was played today in hot and gusty conditions at Cranbourne Golf Club. Ben Powell came in with today’s lowest stroke score with a fantastic round of one over 37 to take home yet another under 11 boys title. Sam Fedmowski blew the field away with his nett score of 29 to walk away with the handicap prize in the under 11 boys.
Jeneath Wong was too strong in the under 11 girls section with a score of 39 while Natasha Jones notched up a win in the nett section with a fine round of 33 from her 22 handicap.
In the under 15 boys it was Aashish Sudarsanan that prevailed with an impressive two over-par 38 for top honours once again. Aashish’s season for 2015 has been particularly impressive with countless victories over the year. Meanwhile Corben Leong also found himself on the podium in the under 15 boys with a victory in the handicap section.
It was a tight affair in the the under 15 girls but it was Ashni Solanki that notched up a win in the gross section. Alexandra Kerr bumped out playing partner Finley Rawlings for the best nett after finishing with 38.
Many of today’s competitors will tee it up at Spring Valley Friday week for the 2015 final before the 2016 kicks off again in late March.
