The Cups course was host to today’s Rookie Series at the magnificent Dunes Golf Links.
Today’s event was the second last Rookie Series for the year, meaning several players were looking to claim one of the last qualifying spots in the 2019 Golf Australia Rookie Series Final.
In the under 9 boys, Louis Inifer added another trophy to his collection after carding an impressive 37 off the stick.
Grace Li clinched victory in the under 9 girls with 49 on a countback to Bonnie Sandri.
In the under 12s, Asher Roche produced a personal best score of 35 to hang on for a slender one-shot victory to Phoenix Diaz.
Equally as impressive were the efforts of Jessica Wilkinson, who showed great improvements to her game to finish with 38 off the stick and take out the under 12 girls.
The 16 boys saw the super consistent Noah Paterson finish on top, matching Roche’s effort in carding a 35 off the stick.
In the under 16 girls, Aleisha Hannam-Lewis claimed the gross prize with a 49 off the stick and played to her handicap of 16.
In the boys’ net events, Johnny Papadatos, Billy Stathopolous and Owen Sinclair triumphed in the under 9s, under 12s and under 16s respectively.
The girls’ net divisions saw Bonnie Sandri take the honours in the under 9s with 27 whilst Nicolette Papadatos joined her brother on the winners list by claiming the under 12s with 30 on a countback.
The final Rookie Series of the year will be played at Oakleigh GC on Saturday November 2.
