The latest event in the year long Stuart Appleby Junior Golf "Rookie Series" was played last Sunday at The Dunes.
The Cups Course provides an ideal challenge for these Under 14 and Under 10 players and the perfect conditions saw a number of great scores returned.
Andrew Zhang (U14 Boys) returned the best score of the day with a 39 over the 9 holes, with Keeley Marx (U10 Girls) returning the best girl’s score of 48. Both Andrew and Keely qualify for a place in the Rookie Series Final, along with the two other age division winners, Thomas Farmakis (U10 Boys) and Cassie Wicks (U14 Girls). The 2012 Rookie Series Final will be played in conjunction with the Vic Open next February.
All golf clubs around Victoria can take part in the Rookie Series in 2013 by accrediting their own 9 hole junior events as part of the series.
