Round 3 is moving day at the Greg Norman Junior Masters with the 54-hole cut looming for the top 40% of players at Palmer Gold Coast.

Surfers Paradise member Lisa Edgar remains a hot contender in the 17 years & under division producing another consistent three-over 74 round. Edgar’s steady play has maintained her the lead since day one, however an array of inconsistent bogies on her outward nine caused her to drop four-shots. Darcy Habgood of Surfers Paradise made a charge during the penultimate round with a three-under 68 however still has work ahead to catch Edgar six-shots ahead.

Josh Armstrong (The Lakes) appears in terrific form this week to take a four-shot advantage heading into the final round at Palmer Colonial after finishing second at the Aaron Baddeley International Junior Championship in San Diego last week. Armstrong backed up brilliant even par rounds of 72-71 for a one-under 70 today with Joel Stahlhut producing a three-under 68 and primed to play in tomorrow’s final decider.

It was a tough day for the 15 years & under boys with previous round leaders Louis Dobbelaar (Brookwater) and Nick Scomazzon (Palmer Sea Reef) struggling to the conditions each carding 10-over 81 rounds. Dobbelaar still maintains the top spot after a four-under 67 yesterday leading Frantisek Pavek of Sanctuary Cove by one-shot with Scomazzon joining Rugathai Thongsom (Hills) and Max Ford (Cairns) a further stroke back.

Kaito Choi (Oxley) has been a standout in the 13 years & under boys division producing another excellent round of 73. The five-handicapper holds a seven-shot lead over Joung Chan Park of South Korea heading into the final round.

The 15 and 13 years & under girls are still out on course.

The 54-hole cut will made after Round 3. Each of the six divisions will be reduced by 60%, thus the leading 40% of players plus ties in each division, shall participate in the final 18-holes. Also the leading 2 Nett Scores in each Division, if not already qualified, will play in the final 18 holes.

The draw will be posted at 7pm.

The final day of the 2016 Greg Norman Junior Masters will be played at Palmer Colonial with tee times commencing from 7.30am. The Presentation and Closing Ceremony will be held directly after finish of play.
