Round 3 – Greg Norman Junior Masters

With the 54-hole cut looming in players' mind for the top 40%, today saw individuals hitting for the top spots in Round 3 at Palmer Gold Coast.

Boys 17 & under division saw Jordan Rooke (Wantima GC) claim overall leader from 13 & under boys division from Justin Hammett's (Emerald Lakes GC) two-day winning streak, with a clean score of 70 for a combined score of 211. Joshuaa Robards (Newcastle GC) shot a score of 73 (214 combined) which safely places him in second in both his age division and overall.

For the boys 15 & under division Ben Duncombe's (Coral Cove International GC) score of 74 for a combined score of 215 holds him first in his division and third place overall. Joung Park (Burleigh GC) moves into joint second alongside Blaike Perkins (Bargara GC) with their 54-hole score of 217 each. 

Boys 13 & under division sees Justin Hammett's (Emerald Lakes GC) score of 78 (217 combined) holding a strong postion and still in contention for the win. Daniel Cho (Pacific GC) hits a 73 for a combined score 218 maintaining his division's second place.

Jeneath Wong (Metropolitan GC) of the girls 15 & under division now leads the pack with her fiery score of 71 (213 combined), taking the lead off of two-day holder Cassie Porter (Peregian Springs GC) who scored 78 for a combined total of 217 today. 2017's Greg Norman Junior Master's winner Suenghui (Kerri) Bong (Hills International GC) hits second place in both her division and overall with an impressive score of 73 (216 combined).

In the 17 & under girls division, Momo Sugiyama (Royal Pines GC) (72), Min Kweon (Sanctuary Cove GC) (77), and Hannah Reeves (Hills International GC) (78) all sit in this division in joint second place with their scores of 226 comined each.

Meanwhile in the 13 & under girls Claire Shin's (Concord GC) score of 76 (227 combined) sees her claim the lead spot in the division, followed closely by Mary Golder (Dalby GC) who maintains her second place with a score of 76 (230 combined).

Each of the six divisions will be reduced by 60%, thus the leading 40% of players plus ties in each division, shall participate in the final 18-holes. Also the leading 2 Nett Scores in each Division, if not already qualified, will play in the final 18 holes.

The final day of the 2018 Greg Norman Junior Masters will be played at Palmer Colonial with tee times commencing from 6.46am. The Presentation and Closing Ceremony will be held directly after finish of play.

The Greg Norman Junior Masters is an Australian Boys' and Girls' Ranking Event. It is for players ages17 and under, and is played over 72-holes stroke play. This is an invite only event and is conducted by Junior Golf Queensland.
