Royal Melbourne Hosts Annual Victorian Golf Foundation Golf Day

Entries are now open for the annual Victorian Golf Foundation event to be played over Royal Melbourne’s West Course on Sunday 28 September. The Fourball event is open to all men and women with a GA Handicap and is played in three separate sections: Men’s, Women’s and Mixed pairs. The entry fee is $260 per pair including lunch and all trophies.

First played in 1988, the Victorian Golf Foundation Annual Golf Day is played at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club in late September each year to raise funds for the Educational and Golf Development of talented Victorian Junior Golfers and junior golf development projects and initiatives undertaken within Victoria.

Previously known as the Queen Elizabeth Trophy/Foundation for Young Australians event, the Victorian Golf Foundation Annual Golf Day is an event for all club golfers in partnership with the Royal Melbourne Golf Club.

Funds raised from the day are utilised by the Foundation in junior and game development and the results are showing. For example, VGF funds are allocated towards the development programs of Victorian Junior Boys and Girls Squads which strongly contributed to the Victorian Boys Team being victorious at the 2014 Interstate series.

The Women’s State Team was also given the chance to compete at the 2013 Women’s British Amateur via VGF support. Metropolitan’s Su Oh was the medalist and invaluable experience was gained by the rest of the team through competing in one of the biggest amateur championships in world golf. Finally, VGF funds offer continuous support to golf programs at all Regional Academies, helping to grow the game in regional Victoria.

Entries for the VGF Golf Day will be received on a receipt basis. Therefore golfers desiring to support the future of golf whilst enjoying a competition round at the magnificent Royal Melbourne should submit an entry as soon as possible. Click here to download the entry  form.
