Royal Sydney super Marsden moves on

After nearly five years of dedicated service to Royal Sydney, Course Superintendent Steve Marsden has resigned from his position at the Club.

Steve was appointed as the Club’s Course Superintendent in December 2012. Since then, he has shown strong leadership of the Club’s Turfcare Team, a vast knowledge of turfcare practices and a commitment to excellence that is reflected in the quality of Royal Sydney’s world class sporting facilities and gardens.

Acting General Manager Ian Finlayson acknowledged the importance of Steve’s contribution to Royal Sydney.

“Steve and his team have done a wonderful job maintaining such high standards over the years,” he said.

“This is not only shown in his preparation of our Championship Course for two successful Australian Opens, in 2013 and 2016, but also in the consistent quality of the Club’s golf courses, tennis courts, bowls and croquet lawns, as well as our gardens.”

Steve’s final day at Royal Sydney will be Monday 22nd January, 2018, after which Steve and his family plan to return to their native homeland of New Zealand and pursue new opportunities.
