Vanessa Elders and Amanda Lee from Rosebud Golf Club were the runaway winners today in the Royal Women’s Hospital Four-Ball State Final after scoring 50 points at the Southern Golf Club.

An incredible front nine of 28 points highlighted by back to back chip ins for four points set the tone as the pair held their nerve on the back nine to win by four points.

“We were shaking” said the pair as they accepted the trophy in amazement of what had just occurred.

The sunny still conditions helped produce a number of good scores as runners up Joanne Ballinger and Simone McDonald from Sale Golf Club scored 46 points.

The pair won on a countback from Susan Gallagher and Mathilda Martin from Lakeside Golf Club who were unlucky to walk away empty handed after scoring 46 points.

The Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB event commenced in 2005, generously supporting the hospital and over that time has raised more than $200,000.

Sarah Bernard from the Royal Women’s Hospital presented the trophies and gave thanks to all of the players, clubs and districts who supported the event throughout the year.

Bernard also thanked the Southern Golf Club for their hospitality and fantastic course.
