RSN joins forces with Oates Vic Open

Golf Victoria is excited to announce RSN 927 as the newest Official Media Partner of the 2018 Oates Vic Open.

RSN 927 will provide regular live scores and news updates from 13th Beach Golf Links as the tournament progresses, keeping listeners up-to-date with the latest action in Barwon Heads as the battle for the combined $1.3 million prize pool heats up.

RSN 927’s Breakfast Club with Daniel Harford and Adam White will be broadcast live from 13th Beach for three straight days in Oates Vic Open week, beginning on Wednesday, January 30 during the pre-tournament Pro-Am and Thursday and Friday’s opening two tournament rounds.

Listeners to the Breakfast Club will also have the chance to tee it up at 13th Beach in tournament week, with Pro-Am spots up for grabs through competitions which will be announced on the Breakfast Club this week.

RSN 927’s social media channels will also keep followers in the loop with live scores and stories throughout the week.

The Victorian radio station will join long-time Oates Vic Open official media partners The Geelong Advertiser and Bay 93.9 FM.

A long-time supporter of Australian and international golf, RSN 927’s coverage of the game grew further in 2017 with the creation of new golf podcast Inside The Ropes.

Recorded at RSN 927’s studios in Melbourne and with the guidance of the station’s production team and sound engineers, Inside The Ropes quickly became one of golf’s hottest new podcasts across the country and around the world.

The RSN 927 team helped provide golf fans with 30 episodes of Inside The Ropes in 2017 – all of which were broadcast across their airwaves each Sunday morning across Victoria – with the podcast reaching No. 2 on iTunes in the Sports & Recreation category in mid-2017.

Announcing the agreement on-air this morning, co-host of the Breakfast Club Adam White said there’s plenty of reasons for golf fans to make the trip to Barwon Heads.

“It’s not just the format being different with the men and women playing together,“ said White.

“It really is a significant event for the women. It’s a lovely lead-in to the Women’s Australian Open and we’re getting to see some of the best women in the world play.”

The partnership will also include on-course signage for RSN 927 and promotion of the event in the lead-up and throughout the week on the station.
