Australia&aposs Brett Rumford has a share of the lead at the Johnnie Walker Championship in Scotland after a first-round score of five under. Rumford and Knut Borsheim of Norway are tied at the top of the leaderboard after they both carded 67s to open the tournament at Gleneagles. The pair are up by a shot from a group of five players, which consists of Thorbjorn Olesen of Denmark, England&aposs Mark Foster, Scotland&aposs Paul Lawrie, Francesco Molinari of Italy and Maarten Lafeber of the Netherlands. Australian Andrew Dodt is a shot further back on three under, rolling in five birdies to go with two bogeys for an opening-round 69. Compatriot Daniel Gaunt finished on two under, while Matthew Zions is another shot back. Rumford got off to a strong start at the European Tour event, scoring consecutive birdies on the second and third holes. The 35-year-old Western Australian also managed a pair of birdies to complete the front nine before ending his round with birdies split by a solitary bogey. Borsheim did not drop a shot in his opening round, managing birdies on the second, seventh, 10th, 14th and 18th holes. Lawrie managed seven birdies, but three bogeys cost him the lead. Another Scotsman, Richie Ramsay, is part of a five-man group at three under, which also includes Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium, Richard Finch of England, France&aposs Victor Dubuisson and Dodt. The Johnnie Walker Championship is the final chance to earn a spot in Europe&aposs Ryder Cup team with Colsaerts the only remaining player in contention for the top 10 on the points list, which would give him automatic selection.
