Brett Rumford is the best of the Australians at the Orange Country PGA Tour Qualifying school tournament but he remains 12 strokes adrift of leader Frank Lickliter III. American Lickliter carded a relatively poor four-under 68 on the third day of the six-round tournament but consecutive 10-under 62s on the first two days ensured he was still at 24-under overall at the halfway point. As the top 25 from the 156-man field receive a card on the PGA Tour for 2008, Lickliter looks to be well on the way to achieving this. He should be joined on the Tour by Australia&aposs Rumford, who also carded four-under on Friday (US time) to be at 12-under overall for the tournament. Rumford is closely followed by compatriot David Lutterus, who is two strokes further back after only managing a two-under 70 on day three. Another two-strokes further back is Greg Chalmers (69) on eight-under for the tournament alongside Jarrod Lyle who shot up the leaderboard through a six-under 66. David McKenzie (68) is on seven-under overall, one shot ahead of Wade Ormsby (70) and two strokes in front of Andrew Bonhomme (72). Andrew Buckle also carded a six-under 66 on Friday but was well back in the field and starts the fourth day at four-under overall alongside Gavin Coles (72), with both players being one stroke better off than Brad Lamb (71). New Zealand&aposs Brad Iles has a lot of work in front of him if he wants to possess a Tour card, after finishing the third day on even par after posting a two-over 74 on Friday, but he is still doing better than Australian Cameron Percy who finished the day at one-over for the tournament after also carding 74.
