RWH & GV – A partnership for life

Golf Victoria and the Royal Women’s Hospital congratulate Nicole Crowley & Bambi McAuley from Commonwealth who has won the prestigious State Final of the Royal Women’s Hospital Four-Ball.  38 pairs qualified either through their Country District Final or the Metropolitan Final to compete at Yarra Yarra Golf Club, on Friday 12th September.

Nicole and Bambi carded a great Four-ball Stableford score of 43 points. Runner’s Up for 2014 were Long Island members Merryn Graer & Janie Field, who were 1 point back on 42 points.

The Royal Women’s Hospital 4BBB event commenced in 2005, generously supporting one of the less well funded areas of women’s health:  the consequences of and treatment for pelvic floor dysfunction.

Continuing support from Golf Victoria for the Royal Women’s Hospital in this vital area of women’s health will enable the further development in training, developing new treatments and technologies, and providing accessible health information to thousands of women around Victoria.

Guest Speaker from the Royal Women’s Hospital, Ms Sarah White, said that the support received from Victorian Golf Clubs over the last 10 years was in excess of $200,000. This included money sent by many clubs to support the efforts of the Royal Women’s Hospital apart from the State 4BBB.  Sarah also said that the money was having a ripple effect for women’s health throughout the country and overseas.

The Royal Women’s Hospital in conjunction with Golf Victoria have published a most informative booklet ‘Golf and Health – Partnership for Life’, which is readily available from Golf Victoria.

Thank you to all Victorian clubs for your passionate and ongoing support of the Royal Women’s Hospital annual 4BBB event.
