Queensland&aposs Josie Ryan (Headland) has won her second Australian Women’s Senior Amateur Championship title after a 3&2 victory over Wendy O&aposConnell (Wantima) in the final at Tanunda Pines Golf Club in South Australia&aposs Barossa Valley. Ryan said she was pleased to win the title for the second time following her victory in 2003. I m delighted to win the Championship again after many years. I had some fantastic support from my fellow Queenslanders. It was a great match against Wendy and she only got this far because Wendy knocked some great players out, Ryan said. O&aposConnell still had reasons to celebrate with her victory in the Australian Women&aposs Senior Rankings system. Players contest 36-holes qualifying, with the leading 16 players progressing to elimination match play. The leading eight players in four separate age divisions also qualify for age flights.
