The biggest field that has ever contested in an SAJG Rookie Series event at Oakleigh Golf Course assembled this afternoon in sunny and mild conditions.
Matty Ahmetoglu blitzed the field in the U15 boys gross section after coming in with a brilliant three over par 32. The nett winner of the U15 boys was Liam Constantine after shooting 26 for a narrow victory on a countback from James Yorke and Nicholas Toohey.
Aryan Sharma took home the U11 boys gross honours with a score of 37 notching out Max Fedmowski on a countback while Taegen Dodds won the handicap division with a round of 25.
In the U11 girls section, Jazy Roberts continued her dominance with her third win is as many starts following her round of 42 this afternoon. Meanwhile Ashni Solanki showed why she is the defending champion for the Rookie of the Year title after winning the U15 girls component with a score of 36. Kayli Schenk and Sayumi De Costa took home the U15 and U11 girls handicap medallions respectively.
The Rookie Series will move to Port Fairy on Sunday 24 May before heading along the Yarra River to Kew Golf Club on July 6.
