Christmas came early for MYGolfers at Howlong when they were visited by Santa last weekend! Santa was in attendance at the Howlong MYGolf Junior Clinic on Sunday 9th December. There were initial concerns about a suitable landing area for Santa s sled and reindeer. With these problems resolved, Santa was shuttled from his secret landing location by Golf Professional Travis Merritt. More than 60 juniors enjoyed the clinic and the visit from Santa. There are now more opporunities for juniors at Howlong with the commencement of the Juniors Sunday Summer Social competition. The competition is run on a weekly basis commencing on a Monday through to the following Sunday. Junior Golfers can play this week and next after school, on the weekends or on a day/evening during the holidays. Cost is a gold coin for parents if they wish to play too. Score cards can be collected from the Pro Shop and returned on completion of the round. All score cards must be submitted by the Monday so that the scores can be tallied and results published weekly in the Corowa Free Press. Presentation of the Junior Summer Social Competition awards will be at the first My Golf Clinic in January 2013. Any juniors wishing to play in the competition can ring the Pro Shop on (02) 6026 5822 to confirm a tee time. The concept of the competition is to get the juniors onto the golf course and to utilise some of the skills they obtained during the first round of the My Golf clinics. If you are unable to make this competition over the summer holidays there will be other opportunities later in 2013.
