The School Sport Australia 19 and Under Golf Championships started yesterday with the 36 Hole Individual Stroke event held on the Beach Course at 13th Beach Golf Links. Josh Armstrong from Gold Creek Golf Club and representing the A.C.T shot rounds of 78,75 in windy conditions for the afternoon round. Four players where tied on 153 at the end of play forcing a sudden death playoff to to get a result. Brett Coletta (VIC) Kodie Koski (QLD) Josh Hayes (SA) didn’t have much chance with Armstrong making birdie on the par 4 in fine fashion to win the playoff. 14 year old Josh spoke to Golf Victoria this morning and told us how it all went down "My highlight was winning the four way playoff, I had a slightly uphill lie with 130 metres to the pin. I hit a 9 iron to two inches." and that was that.
The matchplay rounds of the championship start today Curlewis Golf Club.
