Schulze and McCoy Progress to Men’s Final

It was quarter and semi-final time at the 2013 Men’sAmateur Championship today with a number of matches keenly contested. Tasmania Golf Club’s Andrew Phillips defeated number one qualifier and Riverside member Sam Rawlings 1up. Queensland s Alexander McCoy was too strong for Kingston Beach Golf Club’s Nathan Gatehouse. McCoy claiming the match 4&3. In other matches, Victoria s James Bannan defeated Queensland s Dylan Brown at the nineteenth hole with an albatross. While Tasmania Golf Club’s Mark Schulze made short work of Devonport Golf Club’s Scott Read, winning 6&5. The semi-finals this afternoon were interrupted by a thunder storm, but it wasn t enough to perturb Schulze from defeating Bannan 3&2 while McCoy overcame Phillips 1up. Schulze and McCoy will decide the championship tomorrow at the Ulverstone Golf Club with the 36-hole final commencing at 8.30am. To view the match play tables please click here.
