Scotch Oakburn College represented Tasmania last week in the National Final of the Australian Secondary School Teams Championship. The annual event was held on Peninsula Country Golf Club’s North course in Melbourne. The team of Joel Harwood, Alexander House and George Waller finished in sixth place with a combined team stableford total of 111. Overall Scotch Oakburn College finished twenty five points behind eventual winners St George Girls High School from New South Wales with 136 points. Queensland s A.B. Paterson College claimed second place by eight points with a total of 129 from South Australia s Henley High School on 121. Best performed for Tasmania was Mowbray Golf Club’s George Waller with scores of 29 and 27 points, a total of 56 points. Keona Lee from St George Girls High School also won the individual award with 43 points on the first day and 34 on the second for a total of 77 points.
