Reigning Masters champion Adam Scott has taken the lead at the Australian PGA Championship on Friday, after carding a four-under 67 at Royal Pines. The local hero took a two-shot advantage at 10-under overall on the Gold Coast, with countryman David McKenzie his closest rival at eight under at the midway point of the joint PGA Tour of Australasia/OneAsia tournament. Main attraction Scott went bogey-free for his second round, birdieing the 4th and 11th holes, before backing up the latter with an eagle at 12. McKenzie mixed four birdies with two bogeys to card a two-under 69 to remain in the hunt for the Joe Kirkwood Cup. American Rickie Fowler remains the best hope of the internationals, but lost the lead on Friday as he battled his way to a one-over 72. Fowler remains tied for third with New Zealand&aposs Gareth Paddison and Australian Nathan Green on seven under, with the pair carding rounds of 67 and 69 respectively. Tied sixth are Steven Jeffress and Josh Geary, who both carded 68s to be six under through 36 holes – four shots behind leader Scott. Jason Scrivener and Ashley Hall are level on five under, with Scrivener faultless on Friday as he carded four birdies on his way to a round of 67. Matt Guyatt and Matt Griffin complete the top 10 on four under, after they both carded two-under 69s. Three-time champion Peter Senior made the cut by the tightest of margins, with his two-over 73 enough to see him to two-over overall and into a tie for 53rd spot. Two-time winner Peter Lonard was not as fortunate, as his second straight two-over 73 ended his week early.
