Adam Scott lost a chance for a groundbreaking win at the Genesis Open at Riviera today, but his upward curve continues.
Scott slid to tied-seventh behind American JB Holmes today despite playing in the last group.
In difficult conditions, the Australian closed with a five-over par 76 with six bogeys in his last 11 holes.
“You just have to kind of be on with everything and, you know, the last 10, 11 holes, I drove it poorly and I putted poorly. It's easy to bleed shots then and that's what I did,’’ Scott said.
Scott ended up being overtaken as the leading Australian by Marc Leishman, who rattled around in a final-round 68 that left him fourth.
Leishman backs up in the World Golf Championship event in Mexico City this week.
