The third round of the PGA Championship has been postponed due to thunderstorms with Rory McIlroy and Vijay Singh tied for the lead, while Australia&aposs Adam Scott sits third. With 26 players yet to complete their rounds on Saturday, tournament officials called for play to be delayed at 4:50pm local time as rain set in at Kiawah Island in South Carolina. Just under one-and-a-half hours later the third round was officially postponed until Sunday with thunderstorms threatening the island. McIlroy and Singh top the leaderboard on six-under with both players yet to finish their third rounds. After nine holes, McIlroy was at four-under on Saturday with a bogey on the ninth his only major blemish, while Singh, who was one of three overnight leaders, had completed seven holes by the time play was called off and was two-under for the day. Scott is second on five-under overall after nine holes. Scott birdied four of the last five holes on the front nine, including the final three in a row, to be at four-under for the third round. The 32-year-old Australian leads Sweden&aposs Carl Pettersson by a stroke, while Bo Van Pelt is the highest placed of the players to have finished their third rounds, tied with Trevor Immelman on three under. Aaron Baddeley was paired with Scott and started better than his compatriot with consecutive birdies on the second and third holes. But in an inconsistent performance, Baddeley bogeyed the fifth hole and birdied the seventh, before dropping a shot each on the eighth and ninth to be at even par for the day when play was stopped. That saw Baddeley fall four shots behind Scott and the 31-year-old has joined a group of eight at one-under. Steve Stricker, Peter Hanson, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter are all a shot ahead of Baddeley&aposs group. Stricker is the only player in that group at two-under overall to have finished his third round at Kiawah Island&aposs Ocean Course. Tiger Woods, who started the day tied for the lead with Pettersson and Singh, bogeyed the fourth, fifth and seventh holes to drop into Baddeley&aposs group. Tournament officials have announced the third round will start at 7:45am local time on Sunday with the final round to be played in groups of three from 11:44am, starting at both the first and 10th holes, to try and complete the PGA Championship within four days.
