It followed Scrivener&aposs second round 4-under par 68 which moved him up to within sight of the top ten. Scrivener opened the championship with a 5-over par 77 in a round which started well but faltered. The West Australian was even through the front nine but carded three bogeys and a double-bogey to see his good work slip. Keen to make amends for the first round, Scrivener birdied holes 4,5,8 and 9 to come through the turn at 4-under par in the second round. He added two more birdies on the back nine and coupled with bogeys on 13 and 14, lifted the former Australian Boys&apos Amateur champion to 12th on the leaderboard. He fought back to end with a third round 73 despite opening with two bogeys in his opening four holes. Tasmanian and National Squad member Ryan McCarthy also opened with a 5-over par 77. McCarthy followed the opening round with a 2-over par 74 and a third round 80 to sit in a tie for 53rd on the leaderboard.
